The Kawai GX-1 is a new standard of grand piano design beyond comprehension. Offering unsurpassed quality for a piano of its size, the Kawai GX-1 offers an exceptional level of elegance and craftmanship. The Kawai GX-1 is a compact baby grand piano, making it a versatile and suitable instrument for an array of smaller spaces and studios.

The Kawai GX-1 is described by Kawai as “quiet yet strong, loud yet delicate” and that it offers “unparalleled tonal expression”.

The Kawai GX-1 is smaller than a traditional classic grand, but larger than a baby grand and has maintained the traditional design of a grand piano while incorporating new features of elegance. The GX series have a focus on vivid, expressive and rich tones that offer the professional pianist a fantastic range of tonal expressiveness.

By applying decades of experience and knowledge, Kawai have combined traditional craftmanship with state-of-the-art technology, resulting in this instrument being able to reproduce the control of a full concert grand piano. This ambitious aim has been achieved by the significant extension of the length of the keyboard; due to this a greater expressive control is afforded to the pianist. The Kawai GX-1 offers a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the extended key pivot length which results in a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the back of the keyboard.

With a focus on delivering vivid, expressive and rich tones, the Kawai GX series advanced Millennium III keyboard action incorporates the latest materials combining ABS resin with carbon fibre. The ABS-Carbon compound is incredibly rigid and lightweight and ensures the GX series’ keyboard action has increased durability, improved control and responsiveness and is less prone to degradation over time.

In the words of Kawai “A new era of grand piano performance has arrived.”

Self-Playing System – Bringing Your Piano to Life

A self-playing piano is an acoustic instrument fitted with advanced technology that allows it to perform music entirely on its own, with the keys and pedals moving just as if an invisible pianist were playing. Unlike digital pianos, self-playing pianos retain their full acoustic tone and touch, ensuring the warmth and depth of a real piano while offering the convenience of automated performances.

At the heart of this transformation is PianoDisc Prodigy II, the latest evolution in self-playing technology. This cutting-edge system integrates seamlessly into the piano, remaining nearly invisible while delivering an unparalleled playback experience. Controlled via a simple app, it allows you to enjoy professional piano performances in your home, business, or venue with the touch of a button.
