The Kawai GX-7 Grand Piano is at the pinnacle of the GX series. A popular choice with accomplished pianists, the Kawai GX-7 speaks with authority and divine character.

Regardless of where the Kawai GX-7 is played, its adaptability means it provides extraordinary performances for the artist. The size of the Kawai GX-7 combined with its unrivalled responsiveness makes it ideal for recitals and chamber music in a wide range of venues.

The Kawai GX-7 is ideal for larger rehearsal and teaching spaces and the increased soundboard area and string length allow the pianist to fill the room with its tonal depth, dynamic range, clarity and power.

A fantastic grand piano, the Kawai GX-7 is part of the Kawai GX series that are renowned for having a focus on vivid, expressive and rich tones that offer the pianist a fantastic range of tonal expressiveness and inspire their creative passion. The new GX series grand pianos have been developed by applying decades of experience and knowledge and by combining traditional craftmanship with state-of-the-art technology. Its design ensures an excellent large body of sound that is as balanced as it is distinctive through the broad range of woods selected that are meticulously analysed for quality and character. The carefully selected materials and the overall structural rigidity of the instrument contribute to the sound of the GX-7, which offers a flexible combination of power and clarity. The woods used to create the Kawai GX-7 are selected to achieve rich, deep bass tones and colourful, bright treble tones that endure. The instruments duplex scale system further enhances the harmonics of middle and upper-range tones, adding depth and breadth to the overall sound.

Kawai have made a significant extension of the length of the keyboard; due to this a greater expressive control is afforded to the pianist. The Kawai GX-7 offers a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the extended key pivot length which results in a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the back of the keyboard. The result? A broader range of sound that allows the pianist a greater expressive power and a wider variety of musical expression.

The Kawai GX series advanced Millennium III keyboard action incorporates the latest materials combining ABS resin with carbon fibre. The ABS-Carbon compound is incredibly rigid and lightweight and ensures the GX series’ keyboard action has increased durability, improved control and responsiveness and is less prone to degradation over time. Kawai have been able to produce a more immersive, richer sound by improving the overall rigidity of the GX instruments body.

In the words of Kawai “A new era of grand piano performance has arrived.”
