A flagship grand hybrid piano that pairs the real touch of a concert grand with Kawai’s pioneering PentaDrive soundboard technology
For a limited time, the Kawai Novus NV12 is available at a special price of £12,999 - a saving of £1,000. This offer runs until 30th June 2026, while availability lasts.
The Kawai Novus NV12 is the flagship model in the Novus series, engineered to bring true grand piano presence into a hybrid instrument. As the successor to the NV10S, the NV12 raises the Novus concept with a larger, grand-inspired cabinet, a three position topboard and an authentic grand piano music shelf all designed to enhance acoustic projection and playing ergonomics.
Playing feel is driven by Kawai’s Millennium III Hybrid grand action. With real wooden keys, extended spruce key sticks and ABS-Carbon components, the action reproduces the nuanced motion and resistance of a high quality acoustic grand. High precision optical sensors capture hammer movement for responsive dynamics, while the built in grand damper mechanism recreates genuine pedal weighting and half-pedal control for truly expressive pedalling. In short: the NV12 plays like a real grand.
Sound is where the NV12 makes its biggest step forward. The new PentaDrive soundboard system replaces conventional speaker drivers with five transducers mounted to a large wooden soundboard. The result is a speakerless, wood driven resonance that produces a deep, natural projection and immersive tonal spread much closer to an acoustic grand than typical digital instruments. That acoustic realism is paired with Kawai’s SK-EX Rendering engine, including the new SK-EX Competition Grand and the warm SK-EX Concert Grand, so pianists get both authentic touch and world-class grand tone. Optimised sampling and high-quality audio processing ensure clarity and dynamic range across the keyboard.
Modern performance and studio features make the NV12 equally at home in teaching, rehearsal and recording environments. An improved 5" anti-glare touchscreen with updated UI (and the option to turn the display off while playing) provides intuitive control. Virtual Piano Artisan offers deep sound shaping, from string and cabinet resonance to voicing and key level adjustments, while Bluetooth MIDI & Audio v5 and a USB-C port with built-in audio interface let you connect, record and stream with minimal fuss. App integration and high fidelity headphone output complete the toolkit for contemporary players.
Visually the NV12 commands attention: a deeper, curved rear cabinet, three position topboard, polished silver pedal rods and an adjustable grand style music shelf create a refined concert look while the open central column reduces bulk and brightens the instrument’s presence. The NV12 blends concert-grade artistry with the convenience and flexibility of digital piano technology.
