The Ultimate Stage Piano for Pianists

The Nord Grand 2 is a digital piano designed with the acoustic pianist in mind. It combines the refined feel of a grand piano with the performance tools and sound flexibility needed for stage, home and studio use. Built in Sweden and fitted with a Kawai hammer-action keybed, it delivers both playability and reliability for demanding musicians.

The 88-note keybed features Kawai’s Responsive Hammer action with triple sensors and real hammers for an authentic mechanical response across all registers. From soft pedal work to repeated notes and expressive crescendos, it responds naturally to your touch. The included triple pedal unit supports soft, sostenuto and damper functions with half-pedalling – giving you the control you’d expect from a real acoustic piano.

Now with dual piano engines, the second-generation Nord Grand allows for seamless sound transitions and flexible layering. You can blend a concert grand with a felt upright, combine an electric piano with ambient textures, or instantly switch between complex patches mid-performance – all without load time or interruption. With double the memory of the previous model, you also gain access to more detailed and layered instruments from the Nord Piano Library, including uprights, grands, EPs and more.

This makes it an excellent choice not only for live performers, but also for home pianists looking for a responsive, expressive instrument with world-class piano sounds and huge tonal variety. Through the Nord Sound Manager, you can explore and load hundreds of additional instruments – from classical uprights to experimental textures – all freely available from Nord's online library.

For those looking to create a dedicated home setup, Broughton Pianos offers the Nord Grand 2 Ultimate Home Bundle. This includes the Nord Monitors V2 – purpose-built speakers for the Nord range – along with a matching Nord Wood Stand and music rest. The result is a clean, compact setup that looks as good in a home environment as it sounds.

The Nord Grand 2 is equally well-suited to studio recording. With high-quality audio outputs, fast patch switching, intuitive controls and expressive key response, it's a practical choice for producers and session musicians who want reliable piano action and pro-level sound engines in one streamlined package. From layering to MIDI control, it's easy to integrate into a wider setup.

Despite its solid construction, the Nord Grand 2 remains lightweight and portable, making it ideal for gigging musicians. Its intuitive front panel gives you real-time control of effects, split zones and EQ, with no menu-diving required. A crisp OLED display makes it easy to navigate on dark stages or in studio sessions.

Whether you're performing live, composing at home, or tracking in the studio, the Nord Grand 2 offers the feel of a real piano with the features of a modern digital instrument. Visit Broughton Pianos to try it in person, or contact us on 01562 731113 for more details.
