This particular Model M, originally crafted in 1960, has undergone an extensive reconditioning process to restore it to its former glory while maintaining the signature Steinway craftsmanship.
The Steinway Model M, often referred to as the "Studio Grand," measures approximately 5'7" (170 cm) and is famed for its rich, full-bodied tone, making it ideal for both home use and professional settings. Introduced in the early 20th century, the Model M is renowned for its balanced sound, with a perfect combination of power and sensitivity. Its size makes it the perfect choice for those who seek the quality of a Steinway in a more compact form without sacrificing the tonal range or depth for which the brand is famous.
A Brief History of the Model M:
The Model M was introduced by Steinway in 1911 and quickly became a favourite due to its versatility and impeccable sound quality. It has been one of the most popular grand pianos in Steinway's line-up, loved for its ability to deliver the legendary Steinway sound in a more accessible and space-friendly size. It has found its place in homes, studios, and conservatories across the world for over a century.
This Particular 1960 Model:
This beautifully reconditioned 1960 Steinway Model M has been meticulously restored to perfection. Re-polished in elegant black with traditional brass fittings, it exudes a timeless appeal. Internally, the piano has undergone comprehensive reconditioning, ensuring it performs with the excellence expected from a Steinway.
- The original soundboard, cast iron frame, and rim have been preserved, maintaining the authentic tonal character unique to this instrument.
- The frame has been refurbished and the bridges recapped, ensuring structural integrity and enhanced sound projection.
- All strings have been replaced, and the action has been entirely rebuilt with genuine Steinway patented parts, ensuring that the touch and responsiveness are as precise and satisfying as the day it was made.
This piano is a perfect blend of tradition and modern restoration, making it a stellar addition to any home or professional setting.
