A classic design with a Kawai soft fall lid system!
The KB-15J is a variant of Kawai’s widely used K-15E model, and shares most of its core features, including a solid spruce soundboard, compact 110cm height, and Kawai’s Ultra-Responsive™ action. It’s a dependable choice for home practice, teaching studios or beginner players.
Where the KB-15J differs is in a few design and structural upgrades. These include slightly enhanced back posts for added stability, and a reworked cabinet with small changes to the case design and leg profile for a more modern look. The action and tone are consistent with what you’d expect from the K-15E - clean, clear, and easy to control.
K-15E vs. KB-15J – what’s different?
- Cabinet: KB-15J features legs and castors.
- Back posts: additional structural reinforcement
- Same core build: solid spruce soundboard, 110cm height, and Ultra-Responsive™ action across both models
- Soft-close Fallboard
Both quality used models are on display in our showroom, and we’d recommend trying them side by side to see which feels right. The differences are subtle, but worth considering if you're after something with just a bit more refinement in the build.
