Traditionally handcrafted Welmar Upright Piano in Polished Ebony

Welmar 115 Upright Piano (1987)

Manufactured in 1987, this Welmar 115 upright piano is an excellent example of one of Britain's most respected piano makers. Built in London, Welmar pianos developed a reputation for their high standard of craftsmanship, quality materials and dependable construction, making them a popular choice for homes, schools and music teachers throughout the UK.

Standing 115cm tall, the Welmar 115 offers a larger cabinet than many compact upright pianos, allowing for longer strings and a larger soundboard while remaining a practical size for most homes. Its traditional cabinet features elegant front legs and a timeless design that suits both modern and period interiors.

Founded in 1925, Welmar became renowned for producing high-quality British-made pianos using traditional manufacturing methods and carefully selected European components. Today, well-preserved Welmar uprights continue to be highly regarded by pianists seeking a quality British-built instrument.

Every pre-owned piano at Broughton Pianos is carefully inspected and professionally prepared before sale. With over 40 years of experience, our family-run business has helped thousands of customers find the right piano, offering honest advice and exceptional service every step of the way.

Whether you are looking for your first acoustic piano, upgrading from a digital piano or searching for a well built British upright, this 1987 Welmar 115 is a fantastic opportunity to own a classic British-made instrument.

Welmar pianos were produced in London by Whelpdale, Maxwell & Codd Ltd since 1876. They are traditionally handcrafted and known for their responsive touch. This particular upright piano creates brilliant volume considering it's fairly small size. The bass is rich and the bright mid-range makes it perfect for a rehearsing environment where the piano needs to be heard loud and clear, without taking up too much space. These pianos are still just as highly valued for their quality as they were during their years of production!
