A flagship B Series acoustic upright with TransAcoustic soundboard technology, offering full volume control, silent practice and seamless integration with modern digital features.
Yamaha B30 TC3 TransAcoustic Piano – Flagship Upright with Advanced Volume Control, Soundboard Resonance & Hybrid Flexibility
The Yamaha B30 TC3 TransAcoustic Piano represents the highest level of performance in Yamaha’s B Series upright range, combining a full-scale acoustic piano with advanced TransAcoustic technology for complete control over volume, sound, and playing experience.
As the largest and most powerful model in the series, the B30 features a taller cabinet and enhanced internal design, delivering a richer tonal palette, deeper bass response, and greater dynamic headroom. This makes it an ideal choice for serious pianists, advanced students, and teaching environments where musical depth and responsiveness are essential.
At the heart of the instrument is Yamaha’s TransAcoustic system, which fundamentally changes how an acoustic piano can be used in the home. Rather than relying on external speakers, a dedicated transducer system sends digital sound vibrations directly into the piano’s soundboard. This allows the instrument itself to become the speaker, producing sound through real acoustic resonance while giving you precise control over volume levels.
This means the B30 TC3 can be played in several ways:
- As a full acoustic piano with natural projection
- In TransAcoustic mode with adjustable volume through the soundboard
- In silent headphone mode for private practice
- Or as a versatile hybrid instrument for playback and creativity
Unlike standard digital systems, TransAcoustic technology preserves the physical vibration of the soundboard even at lower volumes, maintaining the tactile response and natural feel of an acoustic piano. This ensures that even quieter practice sessions retain the expressive depth and resonance of a traditional instrument.
The B30 TC3 also includes full Silent Piano functionality, allowing completely silent practice using headphones when required. This dual-system approach offers maximum flexibility for modern living spaces without compromising on acoustic integrity.
With built-in Bluetooth audio and MIDI connectivity, the B30 integrates seamlessly with smartphones, tablets, and computers. Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app provides intuitive control over voices, settings, and performance features, along with chord analysis, interactive learning tools, and music playback options. This makes the instrument equally suitable for learning, teaching, and creative exploration.
Additional features include onboard recording, a built-in metronome, multiple instrument voices, and USB connectivity for use with music production software and digital recording setups.
As the flagship upright in the B Series, the B30 TC3 benefits from Yamaha’s most refined acoustic engineering in the range, offering a more powerful, expressive sound and enhanced tonal balance across the keyboard.
The Yamaha B30 TC3 is designed for pianists who want the full depth and presence of a premium acoustic upright, combined with the ability to control volume, practise silently, and integrate seamlessly with modern digital tools.
