The Kawai GX-2 is a new standard of grand piano design beyond comprehension. The Kawai GX-2 is one of the world’s most popular grand pianos with its outstanding tonal resonance and depth contributing to its popularity.
A classic size to grace any home, performance venue or studio, the 180cm Kawai GX-2 combines traditional craftsmanship with state of the art technology.
The GX-2 is a popular choice for pianists of varying standards and tastes; it combines the stately presence of a classic grand piano with an exquisite clarity of tone unrivalled by other pianos in its class.
The Kawai GX-2 offers an immersive and expressive playing experience with Kawai describing it as “quiet yet strong, loud yet delicate” and that it offers “unparalleled tonal expression”.
With a rich history of international acclaim, the GX-2 is the popular choice for homes, schools and any performance venues and allows a lightness of touch usually experienced by only the very finest pianists.
The Kawai GX-2 has maintained the traditional design of a grand piano while incorporating new enhanced features of elegance. The GX series have a focus on vivid, expressive and rich tones that offer the pianist a fantastic range of tonal expressiveness. The new GX series grand pianos aim to reproduce the control of a full concert grand piano and they have achieved this by applying decades of experience and knowledge and by combining traditional craftmanship with state-of-the-art technology.
Kawai have made a significant extension of the length of the keyboard; due to this a greater expressive control is afforded to the pianist. The Kawai GX-2 offers a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the extended key pivot length which results in a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the back of the keyboard.
With a focus on delivering vivid, expressive and rich tones, the Kawai GX series advanced Millennium III keyboard action incorporates the latest materials combining ABS resin with carbon fibre. The ABS-Carbon compound is incredibly rigid and lightweight and ensures the GX series’ keyboard action has increased durability, improved control and responsiveness and is less prone to degradation over time. Kawai have been able to produce a more immersive, richer sound by improving the overall rigidity of the GX instruments body.
In the words of Kawai “A new era of grand piano performance has arrived.”
